“It was lovely to have you visit the other day to review the garden you put in around our house 2 and a half years ago and to start to plan for the next phase.

As you recall this was a big job. Being on acreage with poor soil and covered with weeds it was difficult for us to work out where to start and stop. There was no garden to speak of other than 2 fig trees and 3 large gum trees.
The garden is now the envy of our neighbours and all our visitors comment on how attractive it is, especially compared to the barren appearance of our surroundings previously. I like that there is always something flowering throughout the seasons and the constant changing of the garden with this.
The rock retaining wall not only looks attractive but is a fun climbing activity for our grandchildren as you predicted. The sandpit and play area for the children also work well as we can sit on the deck watching them play but they are sufficiently far away that they tend to do their own thing without requiring our input.
The fire pit area is also lovely to look at from the living room and the older grandchildren enjoy scavenging for firewood from further afield, building a fire and toasting marshmallows.
We are looking forwards to extending the garden with you next the year. In particular to building a formal vegetable garden and orchard and also to extending the garden to include the area between the house and the dairy and also the garden along the driveway.”
